We left home this morning at 3:30 this morning to go to the airport on snow packed icy roads. We boarded the plane to Chicago at 6:00 am but due to the weather conditions are plane had to be "de-iced". About halfway through the de-icing process the pump that sprays the stuff onto the plane quit working. We spent so much time waiting for a mechanic to fix the truck that we almost ran out of fuel so we had to return to the terminal to get a refill so we could make it to Chicago. By the time the plane was fully filled up with fuel, we had to go back to getting de-iced. It had been too much time for the de-iced to sit, that we had to fully restart the de-icing process. Two hours later we finally took off....and we made it it Chicago! We were supposed to have a two hour layover in Chicago, but had to run throughout the airport to barely make our flight. It was a long, 14 hour flight to Shanghai and so we slept in order to be able to stay awake for are six hour layover. Our plane arrived after midnight US time, but only 2:50 in the afternoon China time, so we lost a night of sleep. Please pray for Maeve tomorrow as we will get to meet her for the first time. Pray that she adjusts well and is not Totally distraught.
