We just arrived in Nanchang. We needed to be up by 4:30 to catch our plane; however jet lag had us up at 1:00am. We spent this morning traveling. Maeve has cried the majority of this morning/afternoon and she was awake more than 20 times last night. She seemed so confused and upset: a nanny from her group home was required to travel with us. I think she is totally confused about what is going on. She also has had a low grade fever and cold since we received her yesterday. It must be so hard for her to be sick and be in such an unfamiliar situation. She did seem more consolable later this afternoon and evening. She even gave us a few smiles while playing with some blocks I brought.
We met with Maeve's orphanage director for some paperwork this afternoon. Tomorrow we finalize Maeve's adoption and begin the process for her visa...our guide told us that tomorrow will be a busy day.
Mora has been a huge help, and she seems to really be enjoying herself. She is loving the authentic dumplings here.
We can see how much we are covered in prayer...God has been working out details with flight issues, keeping us safe, and giving us strength for each day. Please continue to pray for Maeve as she grieves the loss of all she knew as familiar and that she would feel better. We are so thankful for your prayers.
Here is Maeve sleeping on the plane with the nanny.
